William J. Morrison - Producer of Greater Kansas City International Auto Shows
Bill Morrison was born in Detroit, Michigan and graduated from Grosse Pointe High School in Grosse Pointe, Michigan, a suburb of Detroit. After attending the University of Florida in Gainesville, Florida and spending two years in the United States Navy, Bill graduated from the School of Business at the University of Kansas with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration.
Bill joined the Ford Motor Company upon graduation and held several management positions in the Kansas City District Sales Office of the Ford Division in Claycomo, Missouri. After twelve years with Ford, Bill became Vice President and General Manager of Southtown Ford at 47th and Paseo for three years.
In 1975 Bill became the Ford dealer in Lee's Summit, Bill Morrison Ford, and sold the dealership in 1980. In 1980 Bill was selected to become Executive Vice President of the Automobile Dealers Association of Greater Kansas City and holds that position currently. Bill's responsibilities include:
(1) Producer and Director of the Greater Kansas City International Auto Show,
(2) Managing Trustee of the Association Health and Welfare Trust, and
(3) Negotiator of the union labor contract for the dealers locally that have agreements with the Machinists and Teamsters unions.
Bill lives in Olathe, Kansas and has two adult children. His wife Linda, has her own interior design business. Bill and Linda's interests and hobbies include boating in Florida and the Bahamas and salt water fishing.
