STEP BACK IN TIME
In an effort to generate more excitement, energy, and fun, the 2010 Greater Kansas City International Auto Show will reach back to a simpler time when cars developed muscles, cars were special, cars were central to who we were. A time when America was changing in fashion, politics, and music. The Auto Show is going retro, back to the 60s!

The theme will be carried out in the vehicle display areas with manufacturers showing a classic 60s’ model alongside its current version providing a visual evolution for that nameplate. You can witness the 1967 Chevrolet Camaro side by side with its 2010 brother. Or the Dodge Charger. The Volkswagen Beetle. Of course, all of the new models will be on display too.

There will also be a central area on the floor that will specialize in the 60s era with a collection of more 60s vehicles, fashion trends, artwork, lifestyle pieces and more. Regardless of your age, everyone will enjoy this rich period of our social culture.

LIVE MUSIC
Rock Out to the Sounds of the Decade – Experience the music from the ‘60s ranging from Motown sounds to Beatles classics to Woodstock rock. All concerts are free with admission.

KC All Stars showcase Motown Sounds - Performances Friday, March 5 at 6:30 and 8:30 PM.

Beatles tribute band Liverpool take you through the early Beatles sounds of “I Want to Hold your Hand” to the psychedelic era of “Come Together.” - Performances Saturday, March 6 at 2, 4, 6:30 and 8:30 PM.

Woodstock Flashback rocks the hall with the music of Jefferson Airplane, Jimi Hendrix and others Woodstock bands. - Performances Sunday, March 7 at 1, 2:30
and 4:30 PM.

GIVE BLOOD, HAVE YOUR BLOOD PRESSURE SCREENED AND LEARN HOW TO STAY HEALTHY
We’ve invited community organizations to play a part in the show. Truman Medical Center Wellness Van will be on site all-day Saturday performing blood pressure checks and other simple health screenings as well as giving you information on how to stay healthy. The Community Blood Center needs to collect 580 pints of blood every day to meet the needs of our local hospitals. You can save a life by donating blood on Sunday from 10 AM to 4:30 PM.

SEE AN ORIGINAL PIECE OF ART BEING CREATED – Kansas City artist Jessica Lyew-Ayee will paint a 60’s style Kansas City-scape commissioned just for the Auto Show.

GM Experience the Drive – Get in the driver’s seat of GM vehicles from 11 AM-6 PM Friday through Sunday. Some of the vehicles you can test drive include the Chevy Camaro, Tahoe Hybrid and Malibu; Buick LaCrosse and Enclave; and GMC Terrain and Sierra Hybrid.
