1957 CORKED BMW ISETTA

The quirky egg-shaped Isetta, which means “little ISO” in Italian,  is a microcar classic. The entire front end of the car opens to allow the driver to enter. Built by BMW to fill the gap between their motorcycles and luxury cars, it quickly became popular across Europe. Owned by Duane Sanders of Minnesota, this Isetta is even more unconventional since it is completely encased with wine corks.

MINDDRIVE VEHICLES

See two innovative, unique vehicles designed by high school students and adult mentors. Project Reynard is built for driving long distances using quick-charge technology and will be the feature of MINDDRIVE Goes Coast-to-coast drive from San Diego, CA to Jacksonville,FL later this year. Project Lola is an electric sports car that was built for efficiency in 2010.  MINDDRIVE, is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping at-risk youth be inspired to learn, to expand their vision of the future and to transform and sustain the urban work force.
